I speak in verse, you in rhapsodic melodies.
I look up to see dusk setting half the sky ablaze
And sunbeams, leaving ripples of noctilucent clouds to drift in the sky.
The day has somehow slipped from my grasp again,
Leaving only the distant cosmos to fill up the vast vault of the heavens.
Back then, I was restless and temperamental,
Too young to fully understand
That what seemed to be sugar spilt over black marble
Was the burning of a million suns.
Gaia - my mother, my sanctuary, my life, my home,
I am bound to you by those strands of gravity
Which spin each stellar remnant about their orbits;
Just as they lie within the space-time continuum,
I know I am a part of this place.
The rattling of the wind on grass, the trills of birdsong
And the lull of the tide, all culminate in symphony.
So I stand here yet once more
At last, ready to give myself to your harmony.
